      • PGD is good start to become Islamic finance professional since you have business administration degree. After completing try to apply for some of the Islamic Finance PhD programs with the best dissertation proposal and I am sure that you I will have good future in Islamic Finance.

  5. I need to ask that is INCEIF is accredited or not.I was informed by someone that their master’s program is accredited where as PHD is not. Can you please advise regarding this.Also what you advise regarding distance learning accredited opportunities for Phd /DBA..

    • Basically there is no organization to accreditate teh PhD program to the best of my knowledge. But if university is accrediated then PhD is also recognized. There are lots of Diploma mills providing distance learning DBA/PhD and check the university accredition before begining. The goverment accredition bodies are well recognized.

    • They are properly accredited as their inception was initiated by Central Bank of Malaysia, Malaysian government statutory body, and one of the best central bank in the world. No where in the world, government body and being one of the best central bank in the world put no effort to get their program accredited. It is matter of procedural process and time, I’m sure they are now acquired their accreditation.

  13. I am a non-muslim and not of a malay race. I am however interested in Islamic Finance and considering INCEIF. Can i get some advice from you whether this is a good decision and whether it would be too difficult as I am a non-muslim?

    • There are is no rule that anyone has to be Muslim to follow a course in Islamic finance. There are lots of non-muslim scholars in Islamic finance. I would suggest you to follow Islamic finance and the course is sames for others.

    • Yes, INCEIF is excellent for Islamic finance as it is dedicated only to Islamic Finance. Moreover it is run by central bank of malaysia. it has good future and most of its staff are from well known indtitutions.

    • Not at all, it is a profession and nothing to do with the religion, German and American and British is learning that now to join the increasing demand on Islamic finance area.
      But I have no Idea what you will work after graduation ,If you not in the field now. check that before you start.

    I am Egyptian and I am very interesting in the Islamic economic system and i desire to enter the career regarding the Islamic economic system(the academic career) . I desire to work in these career because in my belief and my goals in my life to participate strongly in growing up the Islamic economic system all over the world to become the first financial and economic system all over the world these is really my life goal so i desire to spend the rest of my life in studying and developing these economic system specially the Banking system. my tendency is to be creative person . I believe that my ambitions and personal qualifications (specially mental qualifications) is keep up with these career(the academic career) so i desire strongly to enter that career, these desire emerged from my beleif in my religion that is mean i donot want just a job never also I do not search for money never. but it is my beleif to make the Islamic shareiah the system which control the world especially the economic system. if their is any opportunity for me to financially support me to start my career please feed me back and thanks a lot.

    • Most of the eupoean scholars in islamic finance are non-muslim. I don’t think that I will be a problem for you. I have no idea about universities in Egypt as most of them are teaching arabic.

    • There is no problem and will always in that way, for non-muslim studying Islamic banking. The best Islamic banking program is in Malaysia. There are several institutes institute has offered this programme, both on Master and PHD level. The first one is International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) offered BSc, Msc and PHD Islamic Banking and Finance. The second one is INCEIF, offered Master and PHD in Islamic Finance, together with CIFP (Chartered Islamic Finance Professional) that equivalent to Master Degree’s. The other one is UiTM (Universiti Teknologi MARA) offered BBA (Hons.) Islamic Banking and Master in Islamic Finance and Banking. All those university are well recognized in their country as they are public university. INCEIF is think tank centre specialized on islamic finance initiated by Malaysian governement. The thing studying in such country like Malaysia is, the country with Islam either dominant or official religion, with academician him/herself is Muslim, you will learn to the core of the Islamic value, not some mock-up programme with Islamic title but there is no true value as intended by Islam.

  22. Hello. Next july, I will be graduated from Otto-Von-Guericke Universitat Magdeburg (Germany) with holding a degree of M.Sc. in International Economics and Finance. I want to pursue my academic studies with getting a Phd degree in Islamic Banking and Finance. According to my knowledge, Durham University is the unique institution that gives that degree.   29. Internatioal Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) provides MSc in Islamic Finance. International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance associated with IIUM also provides MSc and PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance. Any one who is interested can apply for these two institutions. They are better places to study. I am also completing my Masters now. I Hope it helps. Thanks

    • Proceed to your own country as I bet every Muslim countries should have their own Islamic banking and finance programme offered by their public university. Learn Islam finance from Muslim is the best way for me. But, if you want Islamic banking from western view, Durham university is the best as they have their own centre for islamic economic, banking and finance, or if you want the best education institution in the world for Islamic banking, Malaysia is the absolute choice, go for it..
